Patrick Milling-Smith is a commercial, film and theatre producer. He is co-founder and CEO of international production company SMUGGLER, named AdAge’s 2020 and shots’ 2021 Production Company of The Year, and co-founder of medium agnostic content company, division7. Amidst media and technology’s rapidly changing landscape, Patrick’s focus remains on storytelling and working with first-class creative talent to create impactful work, regardless of the medium or platform, from Tony Award Winning Broadway plays, category-defining Virtual & Augmented reality, a Grammy-winning album, to Cannes Lions, Grand Prix’s, Palme d’Ors, Webby’s, Clios, and Emmy-awarded storytelling.

Recent notable projects include Sing Street, which ran at the New York Theatre Workshop before the planned Broadway premier at the Lyceum Theatre was postponed due to the global pandemic; Skittles Commercial: The Broadway Musical, starring Michael C. Hall, which was referred to as “The Best Super Bowl Ad of the Year” by Forbes; the Emmy Award-winning commercial for SquareSpace, featuring John Malkovich; the internationally acclaimed and eight-time Tony Award-winning musical, Once; the stage adaptation of Robert Evans’ memoir, The Kid Stays in the Picture, which played a sold-out run at the Royal Court Theatre in London; festival favourites Greetings From Tim Buckley and New York Times Critics’ Pick, Weightless.

Experiential MR work includes Sessions: The Mixed Reality Experience for FX’s Legion, which premiered at San Diego’s Comic-Con, and the Cannes Entertainment Grand Prix and ‘AICP Next’ Best in Show winner, “The Displaced”, a virtual reality film created for the launch of The New York Times VR mobile app. Patrick sat on the board of immersive theatre company Punchdrunk International, best known for Sleep No More, and has served as a jury chairman for both the Clio Awards and Ciclope Festival.
