Ricky Saiz is an award-winning filmmaker, designer, art director and photographer. He has been at the forefront of culture for over 15 years, operating in a variety of mediums and industries. His work is fueled by creativity and collaboration as he moves seamlessly across the disciplines of film, art, fashion, and music. He is the former Creative Director of Supreme.
As a filmmaker and photographer, Ricky has worked with Beyoncé, Saint Laurent, Heron Preston, Calvin Klein, Smirnoff, Proenza Schouler and Gucci’s Alessandro Michele, among others. His award-winning music video for The Carters, Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s recording collaboration, was filmed in The Louvre and hailed by critics for its subversive and progressive approach to Western Art and representation, as well as its conceptually-layered and evocative aesthetic. The music video received a Grammy nomination for Best Music Video at the Grammy Awards as well as 8 MTV Music Video nominations. Rolling Stone Magazine named it Best Music Video of the Year.
At Supreme, he designed and oversaw seasonal collections, collaborations with outside brands, fashion houses, and artists. He also designed and developed graphic identity, industrial product design and marketing strategies. Over the course of his tenure as head creative at Supreme, the brand grew to become a cult, global powerhouse and his work became iconic within the industry and culture at large. The collaboration collections he oversaw include Louis Vuitton, Comme Des Garçons, Jean Paul Gaultier, Yohji Yamamoto, Undercover, Nike, Akira, The North Face, Stone Island, Lacoste, as well as contemporary artists such as Nan Goldin, Josh Smith, Larry Clark and Rita Akerman, to name a few.
