rubberband. exploded onto the scene and have quickly become one of the most sought after directing duos working in advertising, music videos and fashion today. Comprised of Jason Sondock and Simon Davis, the duo met at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and have been directing under the moniker since. There’s a unique flavor and point of view to their work, and their ambition, work ethic and industry savvy are unparalleled. They don’t wait for permission or the perfect brief to hit their desk. They’re makers in the truest sense, leveraging their relationships to create work that embodies their inventive spirit.
Recently, the duo has taken the award show circuit by storm with Pyer Moss x Reebok “American, Also”and CR Mens “How to Stay Cool” receiving honors at at the prestigious 1.4 Awards, YDA, Ciclope, Young Guns, Kinsale Shark Awards, among others. Other commercial work included projects for Moncler featuring Mille Bobby Brown and a forthcoming campaign for Audi.
In addition to their commercial work, the duo broke new ground in music videos. Their video “My Side” for lophiile is a nuanced film about affection, longing and the lengths we’ll go when blinded by passion. The video won Silver at the Ciclope Festival and was highlighted on Directors Library and Vimeo Staff Picks. Other notable music videos include, the black and white film noir inspired “Some Place Else” for MorMor and the 90’s nostalgia trip for Glass Animals featuring Denzel Curry “Tokyo Drifting.” Both premiered to rave reviews and acclaim, receiving recognition from 1.4, Booooooom.tv, Promonews, Video Static as well as Vimeo Staff Picks and Directors Library.
