Biography

Adam Berg is one of the industry’s most imaginative visual storytellers, renowned for creating immersive worlds that blend cinematic spectacle with charm and emotion. Whether crafting large-scale action, surreal fantasy or intimate human moments, his films are defined by inventive visual language and a rare ability to make the extraordinary feel tangible.

With a prolific career spanning global brands, tech giants and entertainment franchises, Berg has earned widespread acclaim as one of advertising’s most celebrated directors. His work has been recognised with multiple Cannes Lions, D&AD Pencils, Clios, British Arrows, AICP and CICLOPE Awards, while his groundbreaking approach to visual storytelling has consistently set new benchmarks for the medium. His landmark “Carousel” for Philips remains in a category of its own, earning the Cannes Lions Film Grand Prix for its single-shot journey through suspended chaos that feels as engaging today as the moment it was released.

His ability to build immersive worlds while maintaining a strong emotional core can be seen across some of his most celebrated campaigns. In “Dive In” for Max, he propels viewers through a thrilling collision of worlds, seamlessly weaving dragons, Quidditch matches and Olympic athletes into a single kinetic experience. His surreal “Wonderfully Unordinary” campaign for Crocs finds beauty in the unexpected, animating mannequins with playful choreography and understated charm, while “License to Deliver” for DHL channels the wit, suspense and cinematic grandeur of a classic Bond adventure.

Many of Berg’s films have become revered as modern classics. Uber’s “Boxes” distilled his gift for high-concept visual storytelling into a deceptively simple premise, while his Lexus collaboration starring Jude Law showcased a masterclass in POV filmmaking. For Apple, he delivered the iconic “Balloons,” turning a simple birthday message into a striking visual metaphor. Other standout works include the intricately crafted “Homes Within Homes” for TalkTalk and the epic “Defy” for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, demonstrating Berg’s ability to combine technical innovation, dynamic world-building and blockbuster-scale ambition.

Beyond advertising, Berg made his feature directorial debut with Black Crab, a dystopian thriller based on the acclaimed Swedish novel that premiered as Netflix’s number one film. He also executive produced the sci-fi drama Tales from the Loop for Amazon Prime, expanding his distinctive visual language into emotionally driven speculative worlds.

Berg continues to push the boundaries of visual storytelling, combining technical innovation and cinematic ambition with wonder and emotion. Few directors command scale, imagination and execution so effortlessly.
