Biography

Christopher Storer is one of the most distinctive storytellers working today, renowned for his extraordinary sensitivity to human behavior and his ability to uncover the absurdity, tenderness and emotional intricacies of everyday life. His work is defined by richly observed characters and visceral authenticity, demonstrating a rare blend of cinematic elegance, truth and integrity.

As creator, writer, director and executive producer of the acclaimed FX series The Bear, Storer has reshaped the landscape of contemporary television. Across five seasons, the series captures the relentless pursuit of culinary excellence, family dynamics, grief and ambition with remarkable immediacy and nuance, blending frenetic energy with sharp humour and profound emotional depth. Featuring an all-star cast including Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, Molly Gordon, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Jon Bernthal, The Bear has become a cultural phenomenon, earning widespread critical acclaim including 21 Emmy Awards with a record-setting 11 Emmy wins in a single season, 5 Golden Globe Awards, alongside numerous accolades at the Screen Actors Guild Awards and Critics Choice Awards.

Beyond The Bear, Storer was executive producer and director on Hulu’s acclaimed series Ramy, bringing emotional insight, dry humour and observational specificity to stories exploring identity and belonging. His work in comedy has produced some of the medium’s most celebrated specials, collaborating with the likes of Bo Burnham, Chris Rock, Hasan Minhaj, Jerrod Carmichael, Drew Michael, Lil Rel Howery, Ramy Youssef, Dan Soder and Whitmer Thomas for HBO and Netflix. As a producer on Bo Burnham’s acclaimed feature Eighth Grade, he helped bring to life one of the defining coming-of-age films of its generation, which clinched both the DGA award for best screenplay and the DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in First-Time Feature Film.

His instinct for character-driven storytelling extends naturally into commercial work. In “The New Guy” for Coca-Cola, Storer captured the chaotic essence of family gatherings and the heartwarming intimacy of bringing a new love interest home for the holidays. Inspired by the acclaimed “Fishes” episode of The Bear, the film showcases Storer’s immersive storytelling approach, weaving multiple Coca-Cola brands into a richly observed film that feels spontaneous, lived-in and emotionally authentic.

Diving into Storer’s oeuvre, one finds a wholly original marriage of chaos and meditation, humour and heartbreak. Across television, film, comedy and advertising he continues to capture people in all their contradictions, finding equal measure of absurdity, intimacy and emotional truth in the moments that define us.
