Biography
Growing up in both Ghana and the UK, Ebeneza Blanche is a multidisciplinary filmmaker who is quickly becoming a household name in the world of music videos, fashion, advertising and film. His rise has been marked by a series of elegant and cinematic films that earned him Best New Director honours at YDA, AICP, UKMVA, Kinsale and Creative Circle.
Blanche is most known for his music video for Little Simz “Point & Kill.” It swept the awards circuit and continues to ride the wave of being both a fan and festival favorite, winning Best Music Video at the UKMVA and netting him Best New Director at multiple film festivals. It was also the first music video chosen as part of the Tribeca Film Festival and went on to screen at SXSW.
In the fashion and branded space, Blanche brings the same depth and precision. His “Style Takes Shape” for Vogue x eBay, starring Tony-winning actor Jeremy Pope and styled by Law Roach, delivers a striking portrait of self-expression throughout history. His “N°5 Drops*”spot for Chanel, featuring Luka Sabbat, Phoebe Tonkin, Victoria Dauberville and Ebony Riley, captures the essence of the iconic and timeless fragrance with a fresh, contemporary edge. In “A Beautiful Run” for Nike, Blanche showcases his deft film craft with a cinematic meditation on mental resilience, featuring Eliud Kipchoge following his fifth Berlin Marathon win. Additionally, his CICLOPE award-winning “A Hero’s Journey” for Gucci x GQ paints a self-reflective portrait of NFL superstar Jalen Ramsey.
