Biography
Fenn O’Meally is an award-winning filmmaker and photographer known for her unguarded and deeply felt storytelling. Her work is defined by a rare instinct for connection, capturing the raw and honest anecdotes of human life with elegance, intimacy and care.
Born in Birmingham, England of Jamaican heritage and grounded in a creative foundation spanning documentary filmmaking, radio journalism and dance, O’Meally shapes stories that feel nuanced, textured and deeply rooted in truth. This sensibility extends to her short film The Thread, a tender, vividly observed portrait of family and dual heritage. The film earned the Special Prize of the Generation International Jury for Best Short Film at the 2026 Berlinale and was universally lauded for tracing quiet moments and inherited memories with striking clarity.
In advertising, O’Meally has directed campaigns for the world’s leading brands including Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Dior, Prada, Burberry, BYREDO, Apple, WhatsApp and Nike. Among her standout work is “Generational Queens” for Amazon Music with Droga5, created to mark the 50th anniversary of hip hop and honour its female influence. She has also collaborated with major talent across fashion and music – from Kendrick Lamar (The Big Steppers Tour) and Snoop Dogg, to Jorja Smith, Letitia Wright, Spike Lee, Sampha, and Alicia Keys (Moncler Genius). Her editorial photography includes work for Citizen (featuring Goldie), i-D (featuring Llainwire), PLAYERS inaugural issue (Jerry Lorenzo) and Simone Rocha.
In addition to her accolades at the CICLOPE Festival, 1.4 Awards, UKMVAs, AICP Awards, and shots EMEA, O’Meally is a Young Guns 18 winner for film, a competition organized by The One Club. She was also named Director to Watch at the Ad Age Creativity Awards and a Director of the Year finalist at The One Show.
O’Meally continues to bring a fresh, authentic perspective to film, fashion, music videos and advertising. Working fluidly across mediums, she approaches each project with a clarity of vision, style and sensitivity to lived experience that shapes culture with lasting resonance.
