RAWTAPE, AKA Rory Wood, is known for his atmospheric realism, kinetic energy and unmistakable eye for contemporary counterculture. Hailing from the north of England, he cuts through conventional narratives with a gritty, social-realist lens, effortlessly blending raw human emotion with a playful, tongue-in-cheek tone.

Widely recognized as a standout voice in a new wave of filmmakers, RAWTAPE has collaborated with prominent artists and some of the world’s most iconic brands, including Adidas, Nike, Stormzy and Kano, to name a few. His innovative approach synthesizes emerging disruptive technologies with highly textured, intimate storytelling, earning him a nomination for Best Director in Commercials at the Young Director Awards, alongside selections in The Face Magazine’s Class and the Dazed 100 list.

Notable commercial work includes his acclaimed “Real Energy” film for On Running, a masterclass in immersive movement, weaving dynamic pacing and moody cityscapes into a vibrant celebration of community identity. His “Find Your Roll in Life” film for DUKE + DEXTER captures rebellious energy with a cinematic aesthetic and retro animations, while “Street Vision” for Nike champions grassroots athleticism with a high-energy, expertly choreographed calisthenics featuring London’s PNP (Push N Pull)) collective.
