Similar But Different

Directing duo Similar But Different, comprised of Dani Girdwood and Charlotte Fassler, is known for clever storytelling, a cheeky sensibility, and artfully authentic performances. Dubbed a “female powerhouse duo” by Adweek, their work blends sharp visual instincts with emotionally grounded characters, creating films that feel stylish, contemporary, and deeply human.

Their directing work has been recognized by British Arrows, Ciclope, AICP Next Awards, Cannes Lions, The ANDYs, and Tribeca Film Festival, while also earning praise from Rolling Stone, Billboard, HuffPost, Ad Age, and Campaign Magazine. Similar But Different was named the third most awarded directing duo of 2021 at Cannes Lions and ranked among Campaign Magazine’s top directors of the year.

In the commercial space, the duo has directed award winning campaigns for brands including Spotify, Diesel, and Google, among others.

Most recently, Amazon Studios selected Similar But Different to reimagine the massively popular Spanish Culpablestrilogy for English speaking audiences with My Fault: London, the English adaptation of the global phenomenon that has amassed a devoted worldwide fanbase. Following the success of the first film, the duo returned to direct Your Fault: London in 2025 and were subsequently named Executive Producers on the third installment of the franchise. They are also currently developing their upcoming feature film with TriStar.
