His Vimeo Staff Pick-winning “It’s Not a Dog” for Molekule reinvents the late-night infomercial, positioning an air purifier as an elite substitute for a canine companion with razor-sharp satire, genre-bending style and a distinct sense of play. “Gold Days” for Grubhub captures food delivery envy in a grainy spoof of ’70s thrillers. For Meow Wolf, his “At the Mall” film gives nostalgic mall culture an absurd twist, turning aliens, mannequins and neon-clad shoppers into a cult-like consumerist community. And “Bow Tie” for ZEGNA blends old Hollywood elegance with dry wit and a surreal nod to Fellini’s La Strada, starring Academy Award nominee Stellan Skarsgård at the Chateau Marmont just days before the Oscars. Tavel began his career at Preacher in Austin, and is the co-founder and creative director of the global creative studio Easy Pete’s.
