Matt Renner is Emmy Award-winning executive producer and the Executive Vice President of Current Programming at SMUGGLER Entertainment. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing all production of television and film projects, including the recent AppleTV+ release, Messi Meets America. Renner previously held the position of Vice President, Production, at National Geographic Channel for seven years. There, he worked on a diverse and ambitious range of content, such as the docudrama MARS, produced by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard; One Strange Rock, an eight-part series hosted by Will Smith and produced by Darren Aronofsky; and Disney+ originals like The World According to Jeff Goldblum and Welcome to Earth. His productions have earned multiple Emmy Awards. As an executive producer, Renner has also shepherded a collection of critically acclaimed documentary films. His work includes the Academy Award and BAFTA winner Free Solo, the Alfred L. du Pont-Columbia Award winner Hell on Earth: The Fall of Syria and the Rise of ISIS, the Emmy Award winner and Academy Award nominee LA92, and the Academy Award nominee and Peabody Award winner The Cave.
