Biography

Jaron Albertin is a visionary, self-taught director known for his restraint, clear intent, and precise execution. There is a cinematic purity to his high-concept filmmaking style, blending intimate human moments with bold visual innovation. His keen ability to craft emotionally authentic narratives set within visually arresting worlds has cemented his place among the advertising elite.

In the commercial world, Albertin distinguished himself with the timeless classic “Body and Soul” for Dodge Viper, a nostalgia-infused love letter to automobiles that boldly asks, “How can we desire a machine more than another human being?” The spot earned top honors at AICP, The One Show, and Cannes Lions. His collaboration with Under Armour and Droga5 on “I Will What I Want,” starring Gisele Bündchen and featuring projections of tweets disparaging Gisele, won the Cannes Lions Cyber Grand Prix.

His groundbreaking “Lunch Money” spot for Converse captured the kinetic energy of New York City and set the standard for innovation with early drone technology. Other notable work includes his statement piece “Breathe” for Harley Davidson, “Rose From the Concrete” for Powerade featuring Tupac’s poetry and grounded in authentic community storytelling, “Get Closer” for Bose, and “Be The Light” for the International Olympic Committee.

Albertin’s early music videos, including Emily Haines’ surreal “Our Hell” and Circlesquare’s painstakingly crafted “7 Minutes,” reveal the experimental spirit that underpins his career.

His debut feature film, Weightless, tells the story of a man struggling with mental illness who reconnects with his equally troubled, estranged son. Co-written by BAFTA and Tony-winning playwright Enda Walsh (writer of Once), the film was featured as The New York Times Critics’ Pick, where critic Ken Jaworowski wrote, “These characters are so strikingly realized that you can’t help but care for them … Jaron Albertin, directing his first feature, cultivates tension in small moments and doesn’t force the drama.”

Whether directing commercials, music videos or features, Albertin imbues each film with his distinctive vision, thoughtfully challenging conventions and pushing creative boundaries. His deep commitment to authenticity and eagerness to embrace new technologies continuously delivers groundbreaking work, unlocking the full potential of every project.
