Directing-duo rubberband. is comprised of Jason Sondock and Simon Davis. Their work is defined by its dynamism, originality, and inventiveness, never satisfied with the status-quo, always pushing the boundaries of convention.

Known for their unique creative choices and genre-bending style, rubberband. has collaborated with some of the world’s most recognizable brands, creative agencies, fashion houses and musicians defining their seat at the intersection of film, art, and culture. Their innovative approach to filmmaking  has earned them top honors at top international film festivals and advertising award shows, including Sundance, SXSW, Cannes Lions, CICLOPE, Ad Age, Clio, Young Guns, UKMVA, 1.4 Awards, and YDA, among others.

Their short film “Don’t Go Tellin’ Your Momma” garnered universal acclaim, most notably winning the Short Film Jury Award in Non-Fiction Filmmaking at the Sundance Film Festival and Special Jury Recognition for Visionary Storytelling at SXSW, while also earning top honors at DOC NYC, HollyShorts, and the San Francisco Film Festival, and qualifying for the 94th Academy Awards. The film received distribution through the New York Times OpDocs and is available to stream on the Criterion Channel.

Recent commercial work includes rubberband.’s timeless and elegant “Nature” film for Loewe x On, capturing the synergy between star athletes and the great outdoors. Their fashion short “Dry” for Zara brings story-first surrealism to an NYC laundromat and earned accolades from the British Arrows, shots, Ciclope, and D&AD Awards. Their Brand Jordan series features quietly confident shorts rooted in emotional truth. Additionally, their Calvin Klein campaigns, including “The Language of Calvin” and “Manifesto,” showcase their ability to craft intimate and poetic vignettes. On the music video front, rubberband.’s “I’m Done” for Bakar and “2 Charming” for Skiifall earned awards at CICLOPE, while “Mama’s Boy” for Dominic Fike was selected for SXSW as well a series of collaborations with Omar Apollo and Steve Lacy.
